Niagara, ON (November 12, 2010) – The law firm of Chown Cairns Lawyers LLP has donated $50,000 to the It’s Our Time Campaign towards the purchase of medical equipment for the future Niagara Health System healthcare complex and Walker Family Cancer Centre, which will open to patients in the spring of 2013.

In addition to providing a new state-of-the-art hospital for St. Catharines and immediate area, the 970,000 square-foot health complex will house new and expanded regional services for cancer, cardiac and mental health, allowing more patients to receive the care they need without travelling outside the region.

“Each member of our law firm is committed to the betterment of our region and its residents,” says Harry Korosis, Managing Partner. “As a law firm with strong roots in the Niagara region we are pleased to contribute to this important new health-care facility that will be used by so many of our clients, family and friends. This donation is the great investment in the future health of our region,” adds Harry.

The Cast Room in the Emergency Department and Urgent Care Centre in the new St. Catharines community hospital will be named in honour of the firm in recognition of this generous gift.
