The Niagara Peninsula Dental Association proudly supports the regional Walker Family Cancer Centre

Members of the Niagara Peninsula Dental Association present their generous donation to the It’s Our Time Campaign.

Niagara, ON (April 4, 2011) – The Niagara Peninsula Dental Association understands the importance of having a regional cancer centre here in Niagara. The group of active and retired dentists has committed $25,000 toward the highly anticipated Walker Family Cancer Centre.

Opening in spring 2013 at the new health-care complex, the cancer centre will provide radiation therapy for the first time in Niagara, for the nearly 1,200 patients who annually must travel to Hamilton or beyond for this specialized treatment. The facility will accommodate approximately 80,000 patient visits per year and have a considerable impact on reducing the wait times for cancer diagnosis and treatment.

This generous gift from past and present members of the Niagara Peninsula Dental Association and their families will be recognized in a Patient Exam Room at the Walker Family Cancer Centre. On behalf of the It’s Our Time Campaign team, we would like to express our sincere gratitude for this generous gift.
