July 23, 2011 - Now back in St. Catharines, the group forges ahead on the home stretch of their journey.

Niagara, ON (July 25, 2011) – Take It To Heart’s Tour Du Lac came to an end on Saturday, July 23 as riders completed their seven day cycling adventure around Lake Ontario to raise awareness and funds for the heart investigation unit at the future NHS health-care complex.

The tour commenced on Sunday, July 17 with riders, support riders, family and friends assembling at the St. Catharines Golf & Country Club. Greetings and best wishes were exchanged and an initial donation for $20,000 was presented to Wendy Dueck, Interim Executive Director, Niagara Health System Foundation. Funds raised from the tour will contribute to the Take It To Heart Committee’s pledge of $750,000 to the It’s Our Time Campaign in support of the future NHS heart investigation unit. Nine motivated riders completed the challenging 7 day, 920 km tour in very warm weather conditions. As cyclists made their way back to the St. Catharines Golf & Country Club, they were welcomed by an enthusiastic crowd consisting of family, friends and other supporters who congratulated the group on their accomplishments.
