Niagara, ON (March 6, 2010) - When approached to support health-care improvements for residents of the Niagara Region, the partners of Wormald Masse Keen Lopinski LLP were eager and unanimous in rallying behind the cause with a commitment of $50,000 for our new Walker Family Cancer Centre.

The new Walker Family Cancer Centre, being built along with the Niagara Health System’s new health-care complex in west St. Catharines, will provide chemotherapy, surgical and radiation oncology. The centre will accommodate 80,000 patient visits per year and be a welcome service to Niagara’s cancer patients—about 1,200 people every year--who now travel to Hamilton or Toronto for radiation treatment not currently offered locally.

“You would be hard-pressed to find a person living in the Region whose life has not been touched by cancer. Having this facility close to home will surely make life easier for so many people in our community,” offers Lawrence Wormald as the motivation for supporting this project.
