Other exciting healthcare initiatives supported by the It’s Our Time Campaign include:
- a new 21-station dialysis centre in Niagara Falls scheduled to open Fall 2012,
equipment for the Greater Niagara General Site, including echocardiography unit, ultrasound machine, Gamma Camera, anaesthetic, mammography and endoscopy equipment, as well as classrooms to accommodate students of the Niagara Campus of the Michael G. DeGroote School of Medicine
- equipment for the Urgent Care Centre and renovations to develop the Complex Continuing Care Centre at the Douglas Memorial Site in Fort Erie
- renovations and equipment for the Urgent Care Centre and upgrades and new diagnostic imaging equipment for the Complex Continuing Care Centre at the Port Colborne General Site
- a new 128-slice CT Scanner for the Welland Site was installed in August 2009 replacing the significantly outdated 4-slice model that had been in use for ten years. Funds continue to be raised to support the purchase of this CT Scanner.
